Electricity and magnetism U-tube videos

Video 1: Oersted Experiment

In this video you can watch that a current carrying carbon resistor can deflect the magnetic compass needle away from its normal N-S equilibrium position.

Video 2: Magnetic field due to a current carrying solenoid

In this video you can watch the direction of magnetic field lines near the poles and outside the solenoid.

Video 3: Electromagnetic Induction

Electromagnetic Induction is a phenomena of generation of induced current when magnetic field across a coil is varied. Such a current is called an induced current as the source of current is purely the changing magnetic field which induces current in the coil. The following is a U-tube video where you can observe the production of induced electric current when a magnet is moved closer to the coil. You will observe when magnet is moved away from the coil the deflection in the micro-ammeter( or one can use a galvanometer) also reverses.

Observation of the activity:

POSITION OF THE MAGNET
DEFLECTION IN THE GALVANOMETER
Magnet at rest
No deflection in galvanometer
Magnet moves towards the coil
Deflection in galvanometer in one direction
Magnet is held stationary at same position (near the coil)
 No deflection in galvanometer
Magnet moves away from the coil
Deflection in galvanometer but in opposite direction
Magnet is held stationary at same position (away from the coil)
No deflection in galvanometer
Magnetic is held stationary inside the coil
 No deflection in galvanometer

Video 4: Simplest Motors

This are the simplest motors ever build.

Video 5: Theory of electricity and magnetism

This is a very old video produced by a University on electricity and magnetism. Static electricity, current electricity and magnetic effect of electric current are all discussed in this video.

Video 6: Fun with Electicity

Sometimes playing with electricity is a fun. Still you have to follow all the precautions so that you don't get any shock. Watch this video. You will really enjoy.
